Text To Speech feature depends on the browsers, user languages and voices installed in the device. Best support on PC version of Microsoft Edge (full list of natural voices), Google Chrome (with Google voices), Mozilla Firefox (default voices only)

HOW TO SPEAK TEXT TO FILE?

1/ Using Audacity
Tap to toggle details
  • Download audacity from its official page.
  • Install audacity into your system.
  • Open audacity, set Recording Device to Stereo Mix ([Audio Device name])
  • This will only record audio from playback, not from microphone.
  • Remember not to play any other audio/music except the one you would like to record.
  • Come back to the Say It
  • Put your text to speak inside Text to speak box
  • Once ready, return to audacity and click the Record RED button
  • Come back to the Say It, and tap Speak button.
  • Tap Stop button if you need to stop the speech.
  • Remember not to play any other audio/music except the one you would like to record.

With audacity, you can do whatever you like with the recorded speech. For more information about using audacity, please visit Audacity Manual.

2/ Alternately, you can use IBM Watson TTS easily just needs web browsers, but with some limited voices.
Guide
  • Go to the IBM Watson TTS.
  • Select Language, Dialect, Voice
  • Adjust speed, pitch
  • Enter or paste the text you'd like to convert to
  • Tap Play Voice (1) button to listen
  • Before continuing, make sure you can here the text spoken well.
  • Press F12 key from your keyboard to show Development Tools (DevTool)
  • In DevTool window, go find Network tab, make sure you `Started recording network log` (2), for `Media` (4) only, as screenshot below
  • Still in DevTool/Network/Media window, tap Clear (3) button to clear all existing logs if avaialble.
  • Come back to IBM website with your text spoken.
  • Tap Play Voice (1) button again to listen
  • Check on DevTool/Network/Media, you will find some log right after you the voice played, as following screenshot
  • Tap on that log item, Right Click / Open in new tab, or Copy / Copy link address
  • Then just download that file, and done!
